In Sweden our 50-öre coin (worth about 7 cents) will be gone by the end of this month. Finally! A coin that can’t even be put in the meter is totally useless. On top of that it can’t be economically sound to produce a coin which cost more to mint than it’s worth. In the US they do it differently. In 2010 they still make more 1 cent coins in the most capitalist country in the world. EV+?
