Donald Duck Poker
This is what the last issue of Donald Duck looked like here in Sweden OK? I don’t think so!Since when is it ok to introduce casino games to under aged kids? The magazine is has kids from 5-12 as it’s target audience, right? As many others with me I think it is highly inappropriate and could contribute to kids developing a gambling addiction. Of course kids should be introduced to games and learn how to compete, but not with money. Money should be kept out until they are old enough to understand it’s value and the consequenses of ones actions.

Yesterday I saw Casino Royale on TV. This Bond movie was released in 2006 when the poker boom was at it’s peak and the writers made a desperate attempt to seem hip and inlcude poker in the movie. However they did some huge mistakes.
The worst thing you can do at a pokertable (that is “legal”) is to slowroll somebody. To slowroll is when you wait/paus before you show the winning hand when you’ve been called.
In the movie this happens at least twice. The first time Bond calls Le Chiffres all in on a board of AKJAJ and shows AK only to see Le Chiffre show first one J and then after a paus and some drama another J. Bond rebought and the game continued. In the last hand of the game (which is extremely overrigged) all four remaining players goes all in. For some weird reason the hands are showed clockwise which also happens to be in order of hand strength. Nufflush, mid fullhouse, higher full house, and finally Bond shows his straighflush, again after some drama. I suppose Bond owed Le Chiffre a slowroll, but both plays are examples of extremely poor poker etiquette.

I could have been in San Remo now, played the EPT, had Espresso dopios on a terrace with ocean view in the sun. Instead I’m at home in Göteborg, playing online, drinking regular coffee indoors, with no water in sight. At least we got sun….

A day at the circus
Yesterday I was at the circus. And it was great!! Well it wasn’t really a circus in the traditional sense with clowns and elephants even if both could be find at the Lorensberg Theater yesterday when Circus Möller came to town. For those of you who are not familiar with Cirkus Möller it’s a stand up show with Måns Möller and his entourage (Read more here). Very funny and entertaining and we left the theater with a big smile on our faces :D
