Honoured

My name  was recently found on the list  of the most influencial people in the Swedish poker community.

The list itself did not contain many surprises, but a few given names like DODARN was missing.   Some politicians and people representing different poker companies could be found on the list.  What companies and politicians were and were not on the list, and for what reasons, could be discussed.  Also the order of the ranking is very much open for discussion.

Either way I feel honoured to have found my name 0n the list =)

Thoughts about tournament poker

I just read an intresting article about Daniel Negreanu and that he analyzed the ROI in WPT tournaments for a bunch of players.  Not very surprisingly the money seem to float around with only a few top players that make “real money” playig in the events.  This makes me question who really make money on these events, the players or the organizers?

Pokerplayers have a tendency to only mind their own business and care for nobody else, even if a few groups that share knowledge and even bankrolls have emerged.   If pokerplayers were better organized they could put some pressure on the organizers of these events and maybe negotiate rake away and even take a cut of the advertising income.  That would increase the ROI for all poker players and the money that is spent by players aroudn these events would stay in the family. Unfortunately no organizations and groups have managed to get anywhere with this question.  For example that we pay rake in WSOP is insane considering how much Harrahs make on advertising and TV rights alone.  Too bad nobody cares enough to put some time into it…

Sick run!

Michael Tureniec has done really well for Sweden lately but there is one Swede hotter than all the rest at the moment and that is Chris Björin. In WSOPE he made the money in 3 tournament out of 3 and on top of that reached the final table 2 of those times.  At Festa Al Lago that is running in Vegas at the moment he is one of 11 left and on his way to yet another final table.  Oh and did I forget to mention that he already came 4th in the $5k event.  Sick, it’s just sick!!  And also very impressive…

Fortunately for me I got to pick Chris’s brain a bit during WSOPE :)

My name is Luca…

…and I can’t lose when playing EPTs:D  This guy totally rules the EPTs.  He’s playing his fifth final table (12 cash in EPTs in total) tomorrow in Warsaw.  I’m very impressed to say the least.  I haven’t even played 12 EPTs so far.  I think I’ve played about 7, but have cashed twice which isn’t all that bad.  Next EPT for me will be Prag in December and I’m 2 for 2 there and hopefully the run will continue :)

Go Nalle

A few familiar faces are still in the mix when the bubble has bursted in EPT Warsaw such as Luca Pagano or as I like to call him “Mr EPT”, the unbluffable Antony Lellouche, and russian Vitaly Lunkin.  Of course I hope that the last Swede standing Peter “Nalle” Hedlund takes it down for Sweden :)  Go m8!!
