With the World Series of Poker ongoing I thought it was a perfect time to give you tips on what to do away from the poker table and the computer when in Vegas. After all, the best experiences in Vegas aren’t neccesarily at the table J
1. Shopping
The shopping in Vegas is amazing and plenty. Don’t miss Fashion Show Mall and The Forum Shops at Ceasars. If you are looking for cheaper alternatives check out the Premium and Fashion Outlets.
2. Clubbing
Las Vegas has some of the best clubs in the world. Pure and Tao are two of my favourites, but there are plenty to choose from. Don’t buy your entry passes from local guys on the strip or the bus. Buy them at the door or better yet, book a table through your concierge service. It’s defenately worth it, if for no other reason so you don’t have to stand in line.
3. Food
Las Vegas has many of the best restaurants in the world. You can choose from all you can eat buffes and Michelin Star restaurants. Of the buffets the Wynn and Rio are among my favourites. It might not have a Michelin Star, but don’t miss the Cheesecake factory at Ceasars. One of the best value for your money in Vegas! Also don’t miss the rotating restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere tower.
4. Lobby watching
If it’s your first time in Vegas it’s worth taking soem time checking out the different hotels. They come in all shapes and forms and don’t be surprised if you see a lion or a canal in one of them
5. Rides
There are plenty of rides at the hotels in Vegas. Stratosphere tower offer the most daring, but the are a couple of other coasters for example at New York New York.
6. Helicoper Rides
Many different to choose from, but one to Grand Canyon or one over the Las Vegas skyline at night are worth considering.
7. Try live grinding
Not a bad idea to try your luck in a live game. Especially not since it’s a good warm up before a big event.
8. See a show
There are many amazing shows to choose from in Vegas and the first time I was offered to see a show I thought “shows are for old people”. After watching my first one I totally changed my mind and now I can’t wait to see my next. Don’t miss Cirque the Soleil.
9. Other activities
So much to do, so little time is defenately true when it comes to Vegas. You can go miniature golfing, try baseball or race at Scandia. You can try indoor sky diving at Vegas Indoor Skydiving. You can race go carts at Pole Position Raceway. They have great movie theaters at Palms or MGM Grand.
As you can see there are pleny of things to do so make sure you plan your time carefully and don’t get stuck in your room grinding online. There are plenty of time for that back home. For more activities or stuff to do check with your concierge service =)
